Forthcoming: traffic procedures for the Vera Orbital Control Zone

With more craft working out of Vera Orbital than at any time in its history, the VCA will introduce managed traffic procedures for the station’s Control Zone, the volume of space around it that every craft must cross to reach a berth or leave one. Similar procedures will follow at 1st VSC · Aegis Station and 3rd VSC · Sentinel Station. No date has been set, and nothing changes until a further notice is published on this feed.

Under the planned procedures, craft are cleared into and out of the zone in order by Vera Orbital Control, Aegis Control and Sentinel Control. Arrivals take priority when a berth is free to receive them. Otherwise it is first come, first served. When the station is full, a departure that frees a berth goes first. Craft that cannot yet be received hold at the edge of the zone and are brought in as berths open, and the station will announce how many are holding and roughly how long the wait is. Craft resting at a working berth will be moved to the mooring ring after a time, to make room for others.

Distress and medical traffic will continue to go straight to the front of the queue, as they always have.
